Urban river restoration is emerging as a key strategy to address the environmental and social challenges facing our cities. The webinar “Multifunctional Restoration of River Ecosystems: Integrating Ecology, Infrastructures and Social Issues” will bring together pioneering European experiences in Nature-based Solutions and bioengineering techniques.

During the seminar, flagship projects will be presented such as the restoration of the Manzanares River through innovative actions within the framework of Madrid’s Metropolitan Forest, as well as large-scale interventions in Portugal, Germany, France, and Italy. These initiatives not only improve water quality and biodiversity, but also reconnect citizens with their natural environment and strengthen urban resilience through new strategies of coexistence with green and blue infrastructure.

It will also be a strategic dialogue space to reflect on the transformative role of river restoration in urban planning and climate adaptation.

Participation in the webinar is free, subject to prior registration at the following link.
